Gold is found in less attractive geographical areas where the mining companies are not interested in mining gold. The areas are not only unattractive geographically but also have many political drawbacks. The risks are quite many and so the supply of the precious metal is low. This is another likely reason for the gold prices to increase.

3. Central Bank buys gold
The Central Banks in USA are buying tons and tons of gold. The Central Bank Gold Agreement has renewed its plan for the next 5 years that European Central Banks can sell 400 tons of gold every year and not more than that. More and more countries are buying gold but the governments can’t sell off gold even if it wants to which has further reduced the supply of gold.

4. Dollar value goes down
Since the dollar value and other currency value is depreciating, more and more investors are showing interest in gold investment. The political unrest in the country used half of the dollar reserve in the country which has reduced the value of the currency. For the opposite relation of gold with dollar has increased the investment in gold. Due to inflation, the condition of the country is getting worse and so gold is the only one to hedge against it.

5. Gold in bull market
This is true as gold price is continuously rising since 2001 and if the conditions of the country remain the same, it’ll keep rising. It’s a secular bull market for gold and investors are frantically investing in gold. In a secular bull market which lasts for 17 years, at the end, the investors don’t care about the supply or demand and completely start investing in that particular asset which is gold in here. This creates a high price for that asset. If the same condition goes on for gold, a time will come when the housing bubble will seem too small in front of gold investment.
